United Methodist Women
United Methodist Women are women whose purpose is
to know god and to experience freedom as
whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative,
supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through
participation in the global ministries of the church.
The Slippery Rock unit
sponsors three local projects for families who are served by the
Food Cupboard and the Victims of Abuse Shelter: Easter bags for
children, Mother’s Day gifts, and Back to School bags. Our
undesignated giving to the
Board of Global Ministries supports
worldwide mission.
Meetings are on the
second Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm in the Student Room of
the church, except January and July.
We welcome all women to
participate in our organization, and we look forward to seeing you
at some of our meetings.

United Methodist Men
We have a great group of men
who always pitch in and get involved in the programs and projects we
plan. The talent each possesses always seems to make the
accomplishment of our projects a success. Ken Blinn is our
President.
Our fellowship breakfast is
held the 3rd Sunday morning of each month at 7:30am in
the Student Room. We have a time of fellowship, a great breakfast, a
devotional time and a short business meeting for planning of events
or mission projects.
Each year, we have sponsored
the Coffee Break on I-79 on Memorial Day Weekend to benefit the
Northern Butler County Food Cupboard. We have “Camperships” for
youth wanting to go to summer camp and encourage the scouting
program. We also help members of our congregation who need help
around their homes.
And,
we can't forget
the fun we have every year at the Fishing Derby at Kuhlber's Pond!

All men are welcome and
encouraged to become part of our group.

King's Daughters
The King’s Daughters is an organization of women
of the church who help others both inside and outside the church
community. They meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month at
7pm except June & July.
Within King's Daughters are several
committees: The Ways & Means Committee sells knives and helps
with various dinners as a way to make money. The Ideas of the
Month find different ways to make money, give supplies where
needed, and have some fun with each other. They each make two pies
to sell at the Slippery Rock Heritage Days Festival to raise
money for different projects that they sponsor throughout the year.
Some of King's Daughters' projects are fruit
baskets for patients in the hospital, Heritage Days, a Christmas
family, Valentine’s Day bags of goodies for shut-ins, and the
Mother, Daughter, Son Banquet. Their recent work projects
include remodelling the church kitchen, their fall bazaar, and baking
cookies for the UM Men's Memorial Day weekend Coffee Break on I-79. King's Daughters also makes donations to Helping
Hands Fund, Heritage Association, Food Cupboard,
Salvation Army,
Heifer
International, flowers for the church grounds, and to
anyone who may need help. |
